A labor of love

I finally finished this video! I got super motivated this week and played around with iMovie until I got the desired finished product. The journey of bringing life into this world is like none other. It is truly a labor of love and Dillan has rocked our world. I wanted to chronicle the journey so I never forget. Enjoy.....

Dillan is in a big boy crib!!!!!

The time has come.....Dillan moved from his bassinet right by mommy and daddy's bed to his big boy crib all the way down the hall!!!!! Since he has been sleeping through the night for about a week now, we figured the time had come. Although we were sad for him to be out of our room, we are sleeping so good! Dillan pretty much goes from 9 to about 6:30 every night. What a champ!!!!!!! Look how small he looks in his crib:)

Dillan can't wait for his new cousin to be born!!!!! We went to visit Jordyn and beba yesterday and Dillan was knocking on Jordy's womb begging for beba to come out and play! It looks like he won't have to wait too long. Jordyn is scheduled to be induced next week. I am going to be an auntie again....and this time I get a girl! Yeah:) I will fill you in with all the details once she makes her appearance....most importantly....HER NAME:)

2 months old!

Dillan turned 8 weeks old last Thursday. I just can't believe how fast the time is going by. He has pretty much grown out of his newborn clothes and is wearing 3-6 months. We have had such a busy summer and Dillan is just taking it all in. Some highlights of the last month:

*sucking on his hand (he hasn't quite found his thumb yet, but he will definitely be a thumb sucker)

*his activity mat. He loves watching the lights on the song machine

*his bath....even if he is having a fit or is grumpy, the second we put him in the bath he is fine. He loves it in there

*the baby bjourn....he loves being close to mama

*tummy time....he doesn't get as grumpy when we put him on his tummy. He can totally lift his head and he even rolls from his tummy to his back

*slept from 9-5:15 on August 1st! First time through the night....YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

*going to the OC fair....Dillan loved it.

We continue to enjoy our days with him and love watching him grow and discover the world around him. He is definitely more aware these days, but has gotten into a great schedule, which we are grateful for. Enjoy the pics!

The Fair

I love the fair!!!!! Dusty, Dillan, and I went to the OC Fair last night and had so much fun. We rarely ever go, but we got the itch, so we went for it. Dillan was awesome (of course) and we just walked around, saw the barn animals, ate lots of food, and even played some games. Last time we went I won a huge stuffed animal for making a basketball shot when Dusty missed, so naturally we had to give that a try again....we both missed:( But Dusty did win Dilly a stuffed animal at the dart game:) I LOVE going places and doing fun things with my two favorite boys! Dillan will be 7 weeks old on Thursday! I can hardly believe how fast this is all going! At his 1 month check up he weighed 12. 2 lbs (75 percentile) and was 23 3/4 inches long (95 percentile!). Our Dr. couldn't believe how strong he was considering he is pretty much already holding up his head! He has started smiling all the time which is just the BEST!!!!!!!!! His first smile at me was on July 6th. Here is a little video capturing the magic:) Enjoy.....

1 month old!

Our little babe is already 1 month old! I just cannot believe it. It seems like yesterday I was pushing out that 10 pounder!! People tell you "Take in every second because it goes by so fast" and I can't believe how true that is. Reflecting on what has taken place the last month, here are a few of my favorite things: 

*when Dillan wakes up in the morning and we bring him into bed with us and he is so awake and aware and we just watch him and fall more and more in love

*giving Dillan his bath and then putting his lotion on and him smelling soooo good

*when I get to just stare and inspect every inch of him when he is feeding

*taking Dillan for a walk when Dusty gets home from work and getting to download and connect with my husband and filling him in on everything Dillan did that day

*when Dillan is waking up and he does his famous "turtle stretch"

*taking Dillan swimming

*and the best thing yet.....HE SMILED AT ME THIS MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
