Mother's Day

I had such an amazing day on Sunday. I woke up (after sleeping in:) with one thought in my head: "I am a mommy to the most amazing little boy in the world!" I distinctly remember Mother's Day one year ago. I was VERY pregnant and I wondered and wondered what the little boy growing inside me would be like. What would he look like? Would he have my eyes? My nose? Would he be a good baby or cry a lot? Would I be a good mom? Would I feel confident in my new role? Well, here I am a year later and here is what I can tell you......
Dillan is a perfect combo of Dusty and I. He looks a lot like his daddy, but he has my eyes exactly. He is the best baby ever. Slept through the night at 10 weeks and never looked back. I have never known a more contented baby. I feel so confident in my role as a mommy. I have never felt so fulfilled in my life. When God created women, he created us to be mom's. I feel like I am fulfilling a role that God created me to play. Are there days I am tired and need a break....YES!!!!!! But I never knew a love existed like this. I would lay down my life for Dillan without a second thought. I would sacrifice anything for him. I want nothing but the very BEST for him. Where did I learn this? Where did I get my confidence from you ask? Well, that is easy....I have the most amazing mommy who I have learned so much from. I have never met a woman that sacrificed more for her children. The lessons she taught me I hope she will teach my children one day. One of of my greatest joys is to watch Yaya with Dillan. She loves him so much and he loves her the same!
After being able to reflect in bed I woke up to an amazing breakfast cooked by my wonderful husband! We had a special time of sharing and fellowship and then got to meet up with Papa, Yaya, and Auntie Whitna for a yummy lunch on Balboa Island. We then had an AMAZING dinner with the whole family, including Drew, Jordyn, and Beebs. Us moms felt loved and honored, which is what this day is truly about! I have the most amazing husband who made it possible for me to be a mom and who supports me everyday as I try to be the best mommy I can be.

Fantastic Weekend on Balboa Island!

We had the most amazing weekend as a family on Balboa Island! Oly and PJ were in heaven with their little "hockey pucks" as Chuck likes to call them. We did lots of cruising around the island in Dilly's car where he was named "Mayor of Balboa." We took a duffy boat ride, had LOTS of Balboa bars, took the ferry across to the peninsula, and Dilly even went on the carousel for the first time. We also packed in a celebration dinner for Chuck's birthday. It was an action packed weekend! Dillan loves hanging with his Oly and PJ and especially his cousin Charlie!

11 months!

Dillan is officially less that one month away from being 1 year old! This last month was a blast! We heard Dillan's first official words "hi jax." But now he is talking a lot! He says mama, dada, baba (bottle), ball, but his most favorite is to say hi to everyone he sees! He is a garbage disposal! Dillan literally eats anything and everything that is put in front of him. The only thing he has turned down thus far is cottage cheese. He loves going on walks in his car around the block. Dillan probably climbs the stairs at least 20 times a day (which givess mommy a pretty good workout). He loves going to the beach and the pool and loves hanging with all his pals! Dillan is the light of our lives. He brings so much joy. He is the world's happiest baby for sure. Dusty and I feel so blessed that God entrusted us to raise him. He is learning new things everyday and it makes us sooo proud!!!!! We can't wait to shower him with love on his first birthday and more importantly dedicate him to the Lord. Our prayer is that Dillan will come to know and serve Jesus at a very young age and that we will do everything to nurture and encourage that. Check out my biggest boy!

The best $5 I ever spent

Dillan is OBSESSED with his new toy car. I found it at the Ladera Ranch Garage sale for a whopping five bucks! We take a walk every morning around the block in it. One morning last week I walked out to the garage to find Dillan sitting in it all by himself. I think he was ready for his fourth ride of the day:) The best part was that the previous owners had written JAX on the back of the car.....it was meant to be. We now call it the Jaxmobile!
