Father's Day

We had a really fun day celebrating Father's Day! We went to Long Beach for the day and walked all around the Harbor, ate lunch, and went to the Aquarium of the Pacific! The kiddos had so much fun, especially at the arcade where they got to ride the carousal with Papa and Yaya. The aquarium was so awesome and Dillan was really intrigued with all the fishies and even got scared of the bat rays. Dusty and I LOVE watching Dillan discover the world and new things around him. After that we headed over to Boe and Chrissy's and Dillan got to play with his cousin Charlie.
This day was a day of celebration. Celebrating the amazing father's I am surrounded by. My dad is such an amazing man. He loves so well and he is the most fun guy you will ever meet. My father in law, Chuck, is the definition of a man of honor and integrity. I know he will teach Dillan amazing things in his life and he raised an amazing son. Which leads me to the man I most celebrated this day....my husband, Dusty. When we were pregnant with Dillan I knew that Dusty was going to be a great dad, but it wasn't until Dillan breathed his first breath and I saw the look on my husband's face that I reallly grasped how amazing of a father he would be. Dusty loves Dillan so well! There is nothing that gives me greater joy then to see Dusty and Dillan falling in love with each other. When Dusty gets home from work, Dillan squeals with delight! I love my husband for many reasons, but on the top of my list is that he is an amazing father! Happy Father's Day Dusty!

Dillan's 1st Birthday Party and Dedication

We had Dillan's 1st year party and dedication on Saturday. Although he had been sick pretty much all week he woke up the morning of his party smiling and for that I was SO GRATEFUL! Especially since his temperature had gotten up to 104 the day before!!!! Needless to say, he was not his normal self, but he was feeling much better. We rented out the Covenant Hills Clubhouse and it was the perfect venue! We had close to 75 people, which included about 25 kiddos! Dusty and I chose to dedicate Dillan this day with our closest friends and family surrounding us. The dedication was SO special. We had Dillan's godparents, the Cordero's, say a little something, and then all of our parents read a little something. Chuck, Dusty's dad, dedicated Dillan and said some amazing words which we were so blessed by. I can't wait to show Dillan the video one day and explain to him what this day really meant. After the dedication, we watched the slideshow I put together and then had some yummy food! The day was spent playing games, swimming, watching Dilly devour his cake, and just enjoying the fellowship of our amazing friends and family. Thank you to everyone that helped me pull off this amazing event!

ONE YEAR OLD!!!!!!!

We made it through the first year of parenting! I still have to pinch myself to believe that I am the mommy to a one year old. It was such a joy to put together Dillan's slideshow because I got to go through all of the pictures starting from when Dillan was born. What a glorious day that was! As each month has passed by, Dillan has captured my heart more and more. He has grown into the most sweet, silly, lovable little dude. Everywhere we go he captures peoples hearts. Whether giving kisses, saying "hi" to everyone he sees, or just laughing up a storm, you can't help but fall in love with him! Dillan is talking like a little jaberwalkie (that is what Dust calls him:) He does lots of babbling and his new words are "bye" and "hot." Dillan is not quite walking yet, but gets braver everyday. His favorite new activity is going on bike rides. We got a sweet new bike seat for him and Dusty got an early father's day gift of a new bike:) So we have been cruising the neighborhood and Dillan just squeals with delight. As I reflect on this last year, my heart couldn't me more filled with gratitude. I am grateful for the gift of becoming a mom. I am grateful for the amazing love that I have with my husband Dusty and how the birth of our son brought our souls even closer than they were before. I am grateful for the journey we have been on and that Dillan was such a happy contented baby and it made our job much easier! I am also SOOO grateful for the love and support of our family and friends who have come along side us and supported us on this journey. Here are some pictures of the big 1 year old

ummm, seriously handsome!!

That's right....I am a big boy now!

I love you Mom!

What's this next year going to bring my way???

Palm Desert Vaca

The Davis family headed out to the Marriott Desert Springs Villas for a week vacation over Memorial Day. We had an amazing time and Beebs and Dilly kept us entertained the WHOLE time. They had fun in their little shamu pool and also the big pool. Papa and Yaya had gotten them some super cool floats for Easter that got a LOT of use:) The weather was perfect all week. We had the kiddos on a pretty nice routine: wake up and breakfast time. Morning walk in their buggies. Nap. Pool time. Lunch. Nap. More Pool time. Snack. Bocce ball or some other activity outside. Dinner. Bath. Bedtime. Then us adults got to let our hair down and enjoy YUMMMY dinners and good wine and pina coladas:) Vacationing is much different with toddlers running around. No more sleeping in and doing whatever you please. Although those days are missed, nothing compares to the joy that Emery and Dillan bring to our lives. After these pictures I bet you will agree with me:)

Drewby's 30th birthday

My brother, Drew, turned 30 years old in May! I still can't believe how fast time is going. It seems like yesterday Drew and I were running around trying to catch birds in our backyard at Holliston! Now we are both married and have little kiddos! I love having Drew in my life and we grew up so close (only 19 months apart) that it is such a blessing to have him and his family so close to us. I love watching him be a dad to Emery and am praying BIG things for him this year. To celebrate the big 3-0 my parents took the whole family to the Carole King and James Taylor concert at the Hollywood Bowl. It was such an amazing concert and not to mention our unreal dinner beforehand. We had quite the spread of yummy BBQ and even flowers and candles. My mom and dad thought of everything and it was a very special evening. I love doing things like this with my family....so much fun!!!!!!
