Christmas with the Olson Fam

We celebrated with Oly and PJ and Boe and Chrissy and the kids on December 23rd at Oly and PJ's. It was such a gorgeous day and really hot out! PJ's house looked gorgeous and there were LOTS of gifts under the tree! PJ planned an incredible nativity scavenger hunt for the kiddos that had them going all over the forest, the house, and front yard. It was so fun! Such fun memories and traditions we are building as a family. We had a yummy lunch, opened gifts, went to the park to ride their new bikes from Oly and PJ and had a yummy dinner together. It was another Christmas for the memory books!

Christmas Train

The Christmas train at Irvine Regional Park is hands down, one of my all time favorite things to do at Christmas time. The kids absolutely LOVE it and is the best memory. This year we went with Oly and PJ and Boe, Chrissy, Charlie, Kate and Jack. The whole place is decorated with beautiful lights everywhere and then you board a train and take a little ride to see Santa. The kids all did so great. It was so funny to look back and see the series of pictures of Kenzie, once she realized who's lap she was on! HAHA. See below:) If you live in the OC, this is an absolute MUST during the holiday season!

25 days of Advent

I started the tradition of doing an advent calendar three years ago. Dilly sort of got it, and Connor was still a baby. Each year, we do some repeats and then also introduce new, fun things. The goal of the advent calendar is to really teach our kids the true meaning of the season. Advent is the arrival of a notable person, thing, or event. For our family, this notable person is Jesus and the event is His birth. It means everything to us. So we like to CELEBRATE that and create fun memories around that. Here is what this year looked like!
